How to Choose Asphalt Roofing Felt Roll Weight
Select roll weight alongside roll dimensions, sample requirements and your market specification when buying asphalt roofing felt.

Weight is meaningful when dimensions are fixed
Weight per roll is a useful purchasing field, but it must be read together with width and length. A 20 kg roll measuring 1 m × 20 m cannot be compared directly with a shorter roll using total weight alone. First put the offers on the same dimensional basis.
Merily supplies multiple weights within its 20 m range. This allows buyers to specify a particular format rather than receiving an unspecified roll sold only under a general roofing felt name.
Use your current product as a starting point
For a replacement supply source, gather the dimensions, weight definition, wrapping and a representative sample of your existing product. These details give the new quotation a clear comparison point.
For a new distribution line, describe the intended use, sales unit and target customer. Then choose an offered specification for sample review. A higher roll weight alone does not establish every performance characteristic or suitability for every assembly.
Confirm what the quoted weight includes
Ask whether the stated mass refers to the product, the finished wrapped roll or another agreed basis. Net and gross weight should be distinguished in the order confirmation. This is especially useful when comparing suppliers with different wrapping and roll-core arrangements.
Use an agreed weighing procedure when checking samples or shipment units. Packaging should be consistent with the comparison, and any tolerances should be written into the order rather than left to assumption.
Keep the chosen specification repeatable
Once a format is selected, connect its length, mass, surface and packaging to a product code. Use that same code on the quotation, sample approval and packing instructions.
Send Merily the required roll dimensions and weight, quantity and destination port. We will organize the product and packing details around the specification you intend to buy.
Put each offer on the same basis
| Comparison field | What to record |
