Private-Label Roofing Felt: An Artwork Approval Checklist

Prepare private-label roofing felt artwork with the right specification, language, product code and version controls before printing.

Start with the approved product

Private-label packaging works best when the product specification is settled first. Confirm paper-based construction, roll dimensions, weight basis, surface and roll-end arrangement before turning the label into final print artwork.

The label should describe the supplied roll accurately. Copying a design from a different product family can introduce conflicting terms, unsupported performance statements or dimensions that do not match the order.

Build an information hierarchy

Give the brand and product name a clear place. Put the roll specification where warehouse staff and customers can find it quickly. Supporting information can include a product code, origin, storage instructions and the buyer’s contact details as required by the order.

For multilingual artwork, review each language against the same specification. Numbers and units should stay consistent even where the text direction changes. Ask the responsible reviewer to check the final arranged artwork, not only a separate text document.

Check the print-ready version

Confirm the file version, label dimensions, orientation and placement on the wrapped roll. Review the actual printing area and any overlap that could hide text.

If a barcode or tracking code is part of the buyer’s design, use the authorized code and review it in the final layout. Keep brand files and customer artwork connected to the correct purchasing project.

Create an approval record

Keep a single approved artwork file and a packing reference for each product code. Record who approved it and which order it belongs to. When a later revision is made, make the change visible in the version record.

Merily supports custom labels and paper wrapping for bulk asphalt felt supply. Send your artwork together with the selected specification and quantity so the printing and product details can be coordinated.
