Asphalt Roofing Felt Buyer Guide

What Is Paper-Based Asphalt Roofing Felt?

Understand the paper base, asphalt treatment and roll format before choosing roofing felt for wholesale or import supply.

The material inside the roll

Paper-based asphalt roofing felt starts with absorbent base paper. The paper is impregnated and coated with petroleum asphalt, and separation material is applied to the surface. The finished sheet is wound into rolls for packing, handling and distribution.

This construction is the starting point for a useful purchasing specification. A product name alone does not identify its roll length, weight, surface, packaging or intended place in a building assembly. Importers should describe those items together when comparing offers.

How Merily supplies the product

Merily supplies this product in a 1 m width, with short-roll and 20 m formats. Examples include 7 m / 6 kg, 8 m / 7 kg and 9 m / 8 kg rolls. The 20 m range includes multiple weight options, allowing a distributor to select the format that fits its customer base.

Roll length and weight work as a pair. Two rolls can have the same width and length while containing different amounts of material. Conversely, a shorter roll can be easier to handle without being equivalent to a longer roll of the same total weight.

Where it fits in a purchasing plan

The product is supplied for auxiliary roofing waterproofing, building damp-proofing and protective separation. Identify the proposed use and assembly when requesting a sample. Selection should match the project design and local installation requirements.

A paper-based felt specification should remain separate from specifications for modified bitumen membranes, self-adhesive products and polymer sheets. Those product families use different constructions and purchasing criteria.

Turn the description into an inquiry

Send the required width, length, weight per roll, quantity, packaging and destination port. Add a photo or sample reference if you are matching an existing product. This gives the supplier a concrete target for its quotation.

Merily brings more than a decade of asphalt felt export experience to these discussions. Our product page and English specification sheet let your purchasing team compare the available formats before requesting a container supply plan.
