Several names, one need for clarity

Buyers may search for asphalt felt, asphalt roofing felt, bitumen felt or tar paper. These terms can lead to overlapping product results, but they do not replace a material specification. The practical question is what the offered roll is made from and what the order will contain.

Merily uses Asphalt Roofing Felt as its main English product name. For this range, the construction is absorbent base paper impregnated and coated with petroleum asphalt, with surface separation material. That description should accompany the name on a technical inquiry.

Use the familiar name and the technical description

A distributor can keep the name its customers recognize while specifying the construction clearly in its order. For example, a purchase inquiry can say: paper-based asphalt roofing felt, 1 m wide, 20 m long, with the required weight per roll and wrapping details.

This method also helps when translating a buying request. A local trade name may be broad, while dimensions, mass and a sample reference provide a shared basis for the buyer and supplier.

Keep different product families separate

If a quotation is for a self-adhesive membrane or another reinforcement type, its product description should identify that construction. Similar colors and roll shapes are not enough to establish equivalence with paper-based felt.

Linoleum is not the appropriate English name for this roofing product. Using an accurate product name in your catalog helps customers find the building material they intended to purchase.

A clear wording for your request

Use a simple sequence: product construction, width, length, weight, surface, packaging, quantity and destination. Include the label wording you use in your market so the packing artwork can be reviewed alongside the order specification.

Our English brochure and roll specification sheet provide a consistent reference for sales teams, importers and private-label buyers. Send your current product description to Merily when you want to match an existing distribution line.
