Start with the way your customers purchase
A roll format should suit your distribution channel. Some buyers organize orders around compact rolls and familiar unit weights. Others prefer a longer roll with a larger nominal coverage area. The useful choice is the one that fits your sales unit, handling process and customer expectations.
Merily offers short-roll formats such as 1 m × 7 m / 6 kg and 1 m × 8 m / 7 kg, alongside multiple 1 m × 20 m options. Compare the complete dimensions and weight instead of treating all roofing felt rolls as one interchangeable item.
Compare nominal coverage per roll
Nominal sheet area is width multiplied by length. A 1 m × 8 m roll contains 8 square metres of sheet, while a 1 m × 20 m roll contains 20 square metres. This is a product-dimension calculation, not a promise of installed coverage.
Project coverage also depends on the specified assembly and any overlaps, cuts or detailing. Keep those installation allowances separate from the nominal area used to compare the supplied rolls.
Check weight, wrapping and storage together
A longer roll is not automatically heavier than every shorter roll. The chosen weight per square metre matters. Record the length and weight together, then consider how the wrapped roll will be handled, stacked and sold.
Packaging choices also affect the finished unit. Printed wrapping, label dimensions and roll-end protection should suit the actual roll size. Use a sample or a packing photograph to confirm presentation before repeating the design across an order.
Build a practical range
If you plan to stock more than one format, give each specification a distinct product code. Your sales team should be able to identify the correct length and weight without opening the roll or relying on color alone.
Share your target formats, estimated quantities and destination port with Merily. We can prepare a quotation that keeps each roll specification and packaging arrangement clearly separated.
