Managing Mixed-Label Roofing Felt Orders
Mixed-label orders need control at packing, loading and receiving. Confirm the quantities for each approved wrapper so a correct total roll count does not conceal the wrong label mix.

Give each packing version a reference
Identify the specification and artwork version for every label. If the material is the same but the buyer label differs, keep those saleable units distinguishable.
Confirm that the proposed mixed-label arrangement is available for your order. Do not assume every print run can be split in any quantity.
Keep item groups identifiable
Agree how packed groups will be separated or recorded during loading. Use the packing list to connect quantities with the approved label references.
Progress photographs can support the record, but should not substitute for the agreed item count.

Prepare receiving staff for the mix
Send the item breakdown and visual references before arrival. Check each label group and keep its stock location clear.
If labels are revised, confirm which version is active. Merily can discuss the packing arrangement against the actual quantities and artwork.
Put it in your buying record
| Control point | Record | Risk addressed |
|---|---|---|
| Artwork approval | Version per label | Wrong print file |
| Packing quantity | Rolls per approved reference | Wrong distribution of labels |
| Loading record | Identifiable item groups | Mix-up during dispatch |
| Receiving | Count and location per item | Incorrect stock picking |
Questions buyers ask
Can identical rolls use different labels in one order?
Ask for confirmation of the available quantities, printing and packing arrangement.
Is total roll count enough?
No. Reconcile the count for each label reference.
What changes if one artwork is revised?
Update its approval and item record, and confirm any effect on timing or cost.
