MERILY BUYER GUIDES · IMPORT & WHOLESALE

Planning a Trial Roofing Felt Order Before Regular Imports

A trial roofing felt order should give you a clear answer about the product and its resale potential. Keep the first shipment focused enough that you can tell what worked and what needs changing.

Define the question before selecting the mix

Perhaps your buyers recognise Camel wrapping but need a different roll length. Perhaps you are checking how a chosen packed roll travels and handles at your warehouse. Write down the decision the trial should support.

Do not confuse sample approval with commercial acceptance. A sample shows a reference product; a trial also tests receiving, stock handling and the response from your own customers.

Limit the number of unfamiliar variables

Select a manageable range and give each item a clear reference. Keep the specification, end covering and label version fixed while assessing it.

If every roll differs in weight, wrapper and selling unit, feedback becomes hard to interpret. Ask Merily to quote the selected items separately so the trial can be reviewed item by item.

Set review measures before the goods arrive

Record arrival condition, quantity received and the specification measurements you agreed to check. For resale, track enquiries, orders and buyer comments without treating every enquiry as a sale.

At the review, distinguish a product mismatch from a price, logistics or demand issue. The next order should reflect the evidence, not simply repeat the first assortment.

Questions buyers ask

Must a trial be a full container?

No universal rule applies. Compare MOQ, transport costs and your confidence in demand before deciding.

Should I test many labels at once?

Only if you can track them separately. Too many changing variables can hide the reason for the result.

What should I send for a trial quotation?

Provide selected specifications, quantities, packing references and destination port, plus what you want the trial to establish.
