Checking a Roofing Felt Packing Prototype Before Production

A packaging prototype should show how the approved roll will be protected and identified. Review the complete packed unit before a new arrangement is used for a bulk shipment.

Define what the trial needs to establish

Perhaps you are checking wrapper overlap, protection at the ends or the visibility of an identification field. State the question before asking for a sample.

Artwork approval and transport protection are related but separate. An attractive print proof does not show how the finished packed roll will handle.

Review the assembled packing

Look at the actual wrapper position, fastening, ends and the item information visible after packing. Check the arrangement against the selected roll dimensions.

If the diameter or length changes, review the fit again rather than assuming the original wrapper arrangement remains suitable.

Agree any additional evaluation

Where a specific handling or transport check is required, agree the method, acceptance requirement and responsible party. Do not invent a certified test result from a simple photograph.

Ask Merily which prototype and packing confirmation arrangements are available for the proposed quantity and design.

Questions buyers ask

Is an artwork proof a packing prototype?

No. It does not necessarily show the assembled packed roll.

Can a prototype guarantee zero transport damage?

No. Actual transport and handling conditions still matter.

When should we recheck the packing?

When roll dimensions, materials, label arrangement or handling requirements change.
