Application & selection

The right material for the right layer.

PE release film separates the adhesive layer from the next turn of a self-adhesive waterproofing membrane. The right order matches the adhesive system, coated face, release level and winding direction—not just the colour of the roll.

Where it is used

For the removable protective liner of self-adhesive waterproofing membranes. Identify the release face and unwind direction before choosing the production roll.

Keep performance with its specification

Technical data for the stated grade.

Reference grade35 ± 5 μm; width 1060 ± 10 mm
Maximum force — MD / TD30 / 25 N/50 mm
Elongation at break — MD / TD202% / 312%

Mechanical values refer to the stated 35 μm grade. Release force must be selected for the adhesive and test conditions; it is not represented by film tensile force.

Practical purchasing checks

Make the order fit your production.

Peeling and adhesive compatibility

Send the adhesive type, application conditions and required release level. Confirm the coated face and sample performance before a repeat order.

Rolls that fit your line

Specify film width, core size, maximum roll weight and unwind direction together. This avoids receiving the right film in the wrong roll format.

Buying by weight or area

At 35 μm, the theoretical yield is approximately 30.9 m²/kg, or 32.1 linear metres/kg at 960 mm width. This is a planning estimate for film, excluding the core, coating and packaging.

Packing & supply

Agree the packing before shipment.

Packing photographs show examples. The final packing list states the roll count, net/gross weight and dimensions for the actual order.

Production lead time

Standard order: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order.

Customized specification: approximately 10–15 days.

Confirm the schedule against the final specification and order. Ocean or road transit is separate from production lead time.

Product FAQ

Questions about PE Release Film.

Which PE release-film sizes are most commonly supplied?

35 and 40 μm are common gauges. Common widths are 960 and 1060 mm. Other sizes within the stated range can be quoted against your production requirements.

Can I specify the release level?

Yes. Include the adhesive system, coated side, winding direction and required release behaviour in the inquiry. Agree on a sample and the test conditions for the selected grade.

Does the tensile table describe release force?

No. Tensile force describes the film strength. Release force is a separate property that depends on the coating, adhesive and test conditions.

How much PE film fits on a pallet?

A typical arrangement is 9 rolls of approximately 90–100 kg, giving approximately 810–900 kg of rolls. The final gross pallet weight includes the actual packing arrangement.

Is embossed PE release film available?

Yes. The textured blue/black film shown is an embossed PE release-film option. Agree the embossed finish, coated face and release level for your adhesive system.
