PET release film combines a polyester film substrate with a release-coated surface. It protects the adhesive layer during membrane storage and handling, then separates during application. Film thickness and release performance are separate selection decisions.

For removable protection on self-adhesive waterproofing membranes. Specify the adhesive-contact face, required release level and winding direction when ordering.

Release performance is specified for the selected coating and adhesive combination. No universal release-force value is applied to every PET thickness.

Choose the substrate and release system together
A PET substrate does not identify the release level. Include the adhesive system and coated face with the thickness and width.
Confirm the roll weight from the actual width
At 25 μm, theoretical yield is approximately 28.4 m²/kg. A 5000 m roll is approximately 169 kg at 960 mm wide, or 187 kg at 1060 mm wide, before core, coating and packaging.
Plan the pallet around your handling limit
Pallet arrangements vary with roll diameter and weight. Ask for the roll count, net weight and gross pallet dimensions together.

Questions about PET Release Film.
Which PET release-film gauges are common?
25, 30 and 36 μm are common gauges within the 20–50 μm range. Common widths are 960 and 1060 mm.
Does every 5000 m roll weigh 178 kg?
No. Width and thickness change the weight. For example, a 25 μm film is theoretically about 169 kg at 960 mm × 5000 m and 187 kg at 1060 mm × 5000 m, excluding core, coating and packaging.
Is PET release film the same as PET carrier film?
No. The release film is removed from the adhesive layer. PET carrier film is selected for an internal layer in the membrane structure.
What should I send for a quotation?
Send the gauge, width, roll length or weight, coated side, adhesive type, required release level, quantity and destination port.
