PET Carrier Film for Waterproofing Membranes
Polyester film for the internal carrier layer of a waterproofing membrane. Match thickness, directional strength and converting format to your production requirements.

The right material for the right layer.
PET carrier film provides an internal film layer in a waterproofing membrane. It is a plastic film carrier, distinct from fibrous polyester nonwoven and from a removable release-coated liner.
Where it is used
For the internal support layer of waterproofing membranes. Specify film material, gauge, width and MD / TD requirements in relation to the membrane construction.

Specifications & available formats.
| Material | Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) |
|---|---|
| Listed thicknesses | 70 / 100 μm |
| Reference thickness | 100 ± 5 μm |
| Reference width | 1000 ± 10 mm |
| Converting width range | 50–2020 mm |
| Options | Colour and roll format |
| Common roll length | Approx. 2000 m; confirm against gauge and handling limit |
Include the selected specification, quantity and destination in your inquiry. Roll format and packing are confirmed with the quotation.
Technical data for the stated grade.
| Reference grade | 100 μm PET carrier film |
|---|---|
| Maximum force — MD / TD | 716 / 882 N/50 mm |
| Elongation at break — MD / TD | 131% / 90% |
Mechanical data applies to the stated 100 μm grade. It is not a technical table for release-coated PET or polyester nonwoven.
Make the order fit your production.
Identify the internal layer
Send the membrane structure or current sample so the film carrier is distinguished from a release liner or fibrous reinforcement.
State directional requirements
The MD and TD properties differ. Keep the film orientation and the membrane design in the specification.
Match the converting format
Confirm slit width, core, winding and roll handling limit before agreeing the production roll.
Agree the packing before shipment.
| Common roll length | Approx. 2000 m |
|---|---|
| 100 μm × 1000 mm example | Approx. 280 kg of PET film per 2000 m roll |
| Pallet layout | 4 rolls per pallet |
| Four 280 kg rolls | Approx. 1120 kg of film, before pallet, core and wrapping |
| 900–1000 kg pallet option | Requires approx. 225–250 kg per roll at four rolls; agree a compatible gauge, width and length |
| Protection | Wrapped rolls with agreed end protection; final net/gross weights on the packing list |
Packing photographs show examples. The final packing list states the roll count, net/gross weight and dimensions for the actual order.
Production lead time
Standard order: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order.
Customized specification: approximately 10–15 days.
Confirm the schedule against the final specification and order. Ocean or road transit is separate from production lead time.

| PET material-volume reference | Approx. 0.71 m³ per tonne; material volume, not packed volume |
|---|---|
| 70 μm | Approx. 10.14 m²/kg |
| 100 μm | Approx. 7.10 m²/kg |
| 2000 m × 1000 mm at 100 μm | Approx. 282 kg of film per roll |
| Calculation | Area (m²/kg) = 710 ÷ thickness (μm); roll film mass = width (m) × length (m) ÷ area per kg |
The approx. 280 kg roll reference corresponds to the 100 μm, 1000 mm, 2000 m format. Four such rolls are approximately 1120 kg, before packing. A 900–1000 kg four-roll pallet needs a different roll format; these references are not one identical packing configuration.

Questions about PET Carrier Film.
Is this PET or PE?
The carrier film on this page is PET (polyester).
How is it different from PET release film?
PET carrier film is selected as an internal membrane layer. PET release film is coated for separation from an adhesive and is removed during application.
Can I use the table for a 70 μm film?
The mechanical table shown is for the stated 100 μm grade. Ask for the specification applicable to a 70 μm order.
Does every four-roll pallet weigh 900 kg?
No. Four rolls at approximately 280 kg contain approximately 1120 kg of film. For a 900–1000 kg film load, specify approximately 225–250 kg per roll and agree the corresponding roll format.
