PET / Aluminium Foil Laminate for Membrane Facings
A real aluminium foil layer laminated with PET. Common total gauges of 35, 40 and 45 μm use a 7 μm solid foil layer, with 1000–1030 mm widths.
The right material for the right layer.
This facing material combines a solid aluminium foil layer with a supporting PET film. The stated total gauge describes the laminate; it must not be confused with a PET film carrying only a deposited metallic coating.
Where it is used
For metallic facings on bituminous waterproofing membranes. Agree on the laminate build, surface finish and converting format for the membrane production process.

The mechanical values apply to the 45 μm laminate only. The solid aluminium layer is 7 μm in the common constructions listed above.

State total thickness and the thickness of each layer. “Aluminium film” alone does not identify whether a solid foil layer is present.

Provide the membrane type, bonding method and required surface finish so the laminate can be selected for the process.

These approximate laminate yields are supply-planning references by grade. They are not plain-PET density values or batch test results. Width, layer build and actual yield determine roll weight; 3000 m rolls and a 900 kg pallet reference are not an identical weight at every gauge.

Questions about PET / Aluminium Foil Laminate.
Does 40 μm mean 40 μm of aluminium?
No. It is the total common laminate gauge: 33 μm PET plus 7 μm aluminium foil.
Is this the same as metallized PET?
No. This laminate contains solid aluminium foil. Metallized PET has a deposited aluminium coating without a separate solid foil layer.
Which grade does the mechanical table describe?
The maximum-force and elongation values are for the 45 μm laminate only.
How do I estimate film area from weight?
Use the grade-specific approximate yield table below. These are supply-planning references for the laminate, not the density calculation for plain PET. Actual yield is confirmed against the selected construction.
