Compare Polyester Mat Thickness Under a Defined Measurement Pressure
For nonwoven reinforcement, keep the thickness method and pressure basis with the number. A thickness reading without its measurement conditions is an incomplete basis for comparing mats or setting an order requirement.

Separate thickness from basis weight
Basis weight measures material mass per area. Thickness measures a different dimension and needs its own method. Do not convert one into a universal value for the other or assume that equal basis weight establishes equal thickness.
Merily supplies continuous-filament polyester in the stated 120–300 g/m² grades. The current published technical comparison is organised by basis weight. If thickness is required for your purchase, include the selected grade and the measurement basis in the inquiry.
Retain the conditions that define the reading
The ISO nonwoven-thickness method describes measurement under specified pressure. For your comparison, record the agreed method, pressure and relevant instrument or specimen conditions. Do not cite a standard name as a claim of Merily compliance unless the actual applicable documentation confirms it.
If another supplier reports thickness using a different basis, identify that difference before ranking the values. A measurement recorded under one condition should not silently become an acceptance requirement under another.

| Record | Keep with the value |
|---|---|
| Grade | Construction and basis weight |
| Method | Agreed nonwoven-thickness basis |
| Pressure | Specified measurement condition |
| Sample | Roll and location reference |
| Results | Individual readings and required summary |
| Order | Criterion and applicability to the supplied grade |

Keep sample locations and results traceable
Identify which roll and sample location supplied each reading. If several readings are taken, retain the individual values and the summary required by the agreed inspection procedure. Do not let an average conceal what the inspection was actually intended to assess.
A sample photograph can illustrate the material, but it is not a thickness result. Keep the image, the measurement and the grade identity connected without giving the photograph a numerical meaning it does not have.
Use thickness as part of the complete order
Include the required basis weight, width, technical properties and roll format alongside any thickness criterion. Core, length, diameter and handling limits still need to be confirmed separately.
Send Merily the actual grade and the thickness requirement with its method. We can discuss the documentation and selected supply configuration while keeping the measured property distinct from the product’s weight designation.
Questions for This Purchase
Does the same g/m² value guarantee the same thickness?
No. They are different quantities.
Should pressure be omitted from a thickness comparison?
Retain the applicable measurement conditions so the results can be interpreted on the same basis.
Does mentioning ISO establish a product certification?
No. Confirm the actual method and documentation applicable to the supplied grade.

Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
