Buying Continuous-Filament Polyester Reinforcement for Bituminous Membranes
Buy the reinforcement grade and the production roll together. For Merily continuous-filament polyester reinforcement, start with the required basis weight and technical properties, then confirm width, roll length, diameter and loading method before ordering.

Identify the reinforcement, not just a white roll
The product supplied here is continuous-filament polyester nonwoven for reinforcement in bituminous membrane manufacture. It is a raw material for your membrane line, not a finished waterproofing sheet or a generic substitute for every textile sold as polyester fabric.
When sending an inquiry, include the reinforcement specification you currently use and the intended membrane construction. Clear photographs of the roll, its end and an opened sample help identify the supply item. A photograph supports the discussion; the agreed grade and technical requirements define the order.
Separate the available range from the technical table
Our listed supply grades are 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 260, 280 and 300 g/m². Common widths are 1010 and 1020 mm. There is no 130 g/m² grade in this polyester supply list.
The published technical comparison covers 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 and 250 g/m². Each column belongs to its stated grade. Other supply weights need their own agreed specification; do not interpolate a tensile or elongation value and present it as a tested requirement for an unlisted column.

Read the properties as a set
Keep machine-direction and transverse-direction values clearly labelled. The table separates tensile force, tear strength and elongation; it also lists mass variation, water resistance, moisture content and thermal dimensional stability. These rows are not interchangeable measures of “quality”.
For example, the 180 g/m² column lists tensile force of 600 N/50 mm in MD and 500 N/50 mm in TD. The 200 g/m² column lists 650 and 550 N/50 mm respectively. These are the published technical requirements for those columns, not a report of a future batch or a guarantee for the finished membrane.
Plan a roll your factory can receive
For the confirmed 180 g/m² format, the roll-length reference is 1450 m. For 200 g/m² it is 1230 m. Target roll diameter is about 1150 mm. Calculate the film-free reinforcement mass using the actual width, rather than assuming the one-metre reference width equals the ordered width.
Our 40 ft loading reference is 40 palletized rolls or 44 rolls loaded without pallets, subject to the actual packing and shipment limits. Send Merily the grade, width, length or handling limit, quantity and destination for a quotation that connects the material specification to the shipment.
Questions for This Purchase
Do all supply weights have a published technical column?
No. The current comparison table covers 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 and 250 g/m². Confirm the requirements for other offered weights.
Is the 180 g/m² roll always 261 kg?
261 kg is the 1450 m calculation at a nominal 1 m width. At 1010 or 1020 mm the material mass calculation is higher; core and packing are additional.
Can I order this as finished roofing felt?
This product is reinforcement raw material for membrane manufacture, not finished paper-based asphalt roofing felt.
