Compare Release-Film Batches Against One Approved Specification

Batch consistency starts with a stable comparison. Keep the material identity, specification revision and evaluation conditions the same, then record which requirement is being checked. A different-looking label or a different trial condition is not by itself a measured performance trend.

Use one reference specification

Identify the approved PE or PET substrate, gauge, width, coated face and release requirement. Keep the sample approval and the order on the same revision. If the requirement changes, mark that change rather than combining old and new results in one unqualified comparison.

Add the core, winding and roll format where production handling is part of approval. A batch comparison should not quietly switch the supply unit while claiming to compare only the coated film.

Separate the properties being monitored

Dimensions, mechanical properties, release behaviour and roll appearance are different fields. Record each requirement with its own method and unit. A successful check of one field does not supply a missing result for another.

If your team evaluates release behaviour, preserve the adhesive reference, conditioning and measurement basis. A changed adhesive or different evaluation stage can change what the comparison means, even when the supplier material label is unchanged.

Keep the sample-to-lot connection

Record which roll and position supplied each sample. Retain the lot or shipment identity available from the order documents. When several samples are used, keep their identities through the evaluation instead of averaging unrelated records together.

If a batch document is requested, confirm that it describes the actual material and order. A catalogue introduces a product range; it is not automatically a test result for the latest shipment.

Investigate a difference before changing the baseline

When a result differs from the agreed requirement, record the observed value, the applicable limit and the evaluation conditions. Include relevant product and packing photographs where they help identify the material or its condition.

Send Merily the current specification and the specific comparison record. This supports a focused discussion of the quoted grade and the next evaluation, without creating an unsupported claim that every future batch has already been tested by a stated procedure.

Questions for This Purchase

Can I mix results from different adhesives in one release-force trend?

Only interpret the comparison with the adhesive and evaluation changes clearly identified. They are not automatically equivalent conditions.

Is a catalogue a batch certificate?

No. Confirm the order-specific documents available for the actual material.

Which documents should a repeat-order comparison retain?

Keep the approved specification revision, sample identity, applicable method and required order documents.
