Make a Release-Film Defect Record That Identifies the Roll Position
A useful defect record tells the reader where the observation occurred, not only what it looked like. Connect the photograph to the film, face and roll position before asking for an assessment.

Retain material identity
Record PE or PET base, grade, dimensions and the available roll or order reference. Keep an affected roll separate from unrelated stock.
If the observation comes from a converted membrane rather than the raw film, identify that stage and retain the connection to the raw input where available.
Describe location and extent
Mark the width zone and the position along the roll when known. Identify the relevant face and whether the observation is isolated, repeated or continuous over the inspected area.
Record only the extent actually inspected. Do not describe an entire lot as affected based on one unlocated photograph.
Roll-position record
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Field | Record |
|---|---|
| Identity | Product, dimensions and roll reference |
| Stage | Raw film or defined process stage |
| Face | Inspected / adhesive-contact side |
| Position | Width zone and length location |
| Extent | Observed range only |
| Evidence | Overview, detail and applicable test result |

Separate observation from cause
Use clear descriptions of marks, wrinkles, breaks or release behaviour as applicable. Retain the process conditions relevant to a functional observation.
A photograph may establish visible condition but not its origin or a numerical peel-force result. Keep any test method and result with the actual sample.
Send a focused assessment request
Attach the agreed specification, roll identity and relevant photographs. State the clarification or evaluation required.
For future supply, include any particular inspection or reporting need in the RFQ. Merily can discuss the actual material requirement without guessing from an anonymous image.
Questions for This Purchase
Can one photo define the affected lot quantity?
Not without a suitable inspection basis.
Should a suspected cause be recorded as fact?
Keep the observation and any unconfirmed explanation separate.
What makes the report actionable?
Material identity, location, requirement and relevant evidence.
Send your specification.
Get a clear material quote.
Tell us what you produce, the material you need and your required roll format. Include the quantity and destination port so we can prepare the product and packing details together.
Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
