Release Film Wet Coating Weight Is Not Dry Silicone Coat Weight
When coating quantity appears in a release-film specification, identify exactly what is being weighed. Applied liquid and the dry coating remaining after processing are different quantities.

Name the quantity
A wet application value refers to the coating liquid at the stated process stage. A dry coat-weight value refers to the remaining coating under its defined measurement basis.
Neither value can be converted to the other without the relevant composition and process information. Do not relabel a liquid application note as a dry-silicone specification.
Keep the measurement basis
State the unit, area basis, coated face and measurement stage. If two faces are coated, clarify whether the stated quantity is per face or a combined value.
A unit such as g/m² is not enough by itself. Two numbers with the same unit may still describe different stages or materials.
Clarify a coating-weight entry
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Field | Question |
|---|---|
| Stage | Wet liquid or remaining dry coating? |
| Composition | What material is included? |
| Face | Per side or combined? |
| Measurement | Which method and conditioning? |
| Function | Separate release evaluation required? |

Separate quantity from release performance
A coating-quantity entry does not establish peel force or adhesive compatibility. Evaluate release behaviour using the actual adhesive and the agreed conditions.
Do not promise that increasing a coating quantity alone will create a particular release level. Keep the functional requirement and the coating description distinct.
Write an unambiguous RFQ
Send Merily the PE or PET base, thickness, width and required release evaluation. If coating weight is part of your specification, identify its exact definition and method.
Confirm any offered value before it enters the order. Unverified process notes should remain outside the public technical commitment.
Questions for This Purchase
Can wet g/m² be copied as dry g/m²?
No. The quantities have different definitions.
Does coat weight alone establish peel force?
No. Define and evaluate release performance separately.
Should an unverified process note become a website promise?
Confirm the value and meaning before publishing it as a specification.
Send your specification.

Tell us what you produce, the material you need and your required roll format. Include the quantity and destination port so we can prepare the product and packing details together.
Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
