Choose Clear or Coloured Release Film Without Confusing Colour with Performance
Specify colour for the identification and production purpose you need, then define release performance separately. A film’s appearance does not identify its release force or coated face.

Explain the colour requirement
State the desired appearance and the role it plays in your process or product identification. Confirm availability for the actual PE or PET grade and dimensions.
Do not assume every colour in a photograph is an available release-film grade or that the same colour always identifies the same material.
Keep the release interface identifiable
If the process needs a particular coated face, retain the agreed face identification with the roll specification. Colour alone is not a reliable substitute unless the arrangement is expressly confirmed.
For a two-face requirement, describe each side and its role. Keep face naming consistent between the sample, quotation and production instructions.
Colour-selection brief
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Item | Confirm |
|---|---|
| Material | PE or PET and actual grade |
| Appearance | Required colour / clarity and reference |
| Face | Coated-face identification where needed |
| Function | Release evaluation with actual adhesive |
| Format | Thickness, width and roll requirements |
| Supply | Confirmed availability and timing |

Evaluate the functional requirement
Use the actual adhesive and relevant test conditions for release evaluation. A visually similar film may not meet the same functional requirement.
Keep thickness, width and handling requirements beside the release specification so the comparison concerns a complete input, not only its appearance.
Confirm the selected combination
Send Merily the base material, thickness, width, colour requirement and release evaluation needed. Include an identified reference sample if appearance is important.
Confirm the offered combination and any customization timing in the quotation. Do not replace a technical approval with colour matching alone.
