Choose Composite Base Mat Weight by Its Matching Mesh Grade

For composite base mat, a basis-weight number should stay connected to its construction. Use the corresponding model and technical column when selecting a grade, then confirm the actual roll format for production and delivery.

Start with the paired model and weight

Merily’s published composite sequence pairs standard 4×4, 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7 with 90, 100, 110 and 120 g/m². Leno 7×7, 8×8 and 9×9 correspond to 130, 140 and 180 g/m². Use the pairing as the starting point for an inquiry.

If you require a different combination, describe it as a requested configuration and ask for confirmation. Do not assume every mesh model can be supplied at every listed weight with unchanged properties. The quoted construction must be identifiable.

Look beyond a single strength number

Compare tensile force in both directions and the other requirements relevant to your membrane. For the standard 6×6/110 g/m² column, the published tensile values are 500 N/50 mm MD and 280 N/50 mm TD. The standard 7×7/120 g/m² column lists 550 and 470 N/50 mm respectively.

Keep elongation and tear separate from those tensile entries. These are technical requirements for stated columns, not a ranking that proves one grade is best for every application. The selected grade needs to meet the actual requirements of your membrane construction.

Avoid crossing into another material table

The 130 g/m² composite entry is a composite grade; it is not an added 130 g/m² supply option in the continuous-filament polyester range. Similar purchasing language can make this easy to confuse when records move between teams.

Likewise, a polyester performance row cannot be used to fill a missing composite value. Request the specification that applies to the actual reinforcement structure, grade and evaluation basis. Keep unrelated technical tables separate.

Translate the grade into a complete order

Confirm width, roll length, core, handling limits and packing with the offer. For a material-mass planning calculation, state the actual width and length with the basis weight. Do not turn an unspecified roll photograph into a fixed shipment quantity.

Send Merily the model, corresponding weight, required properties, width and quantity. Add the destination and production schedule requirement so the material and shipment can be quoted together.

Questions for This Purchase

Does a heavier composite grade always suit my membrane better?

No. Select the construction and requirements needed for the actual membrane and process.

Is 130 g/m² available in the composite list?

Yes, it corresponds to the listed Leno 7×7 composite grade. That does not add 130 g/m² to the polyester range.

Should I compare composite and polyester only by weight?

No. Their structures and technical requirements differ; use each material’s applicable specification.
