Cross-Laminated HDPE Film: Compare Strength by Direction and Grade
Cross-laminated construction and an HDPE material name are not enough to define strength. Keep thickness, direction and the applicable technical requirement together when selecting membrane facing.

Identify the construction
Merily’s strong cross-laminated film uses HDPE with a cross-laminated structure. Common thickness selections include 100 and 150 μm; the selected grade must be identified in the quotation.
Ordinary HDPE facing and cross-laminated HDPE are separate product selections. Similar material density does not make their mechanical properties identical.
Read the reference grade correctly
The published reference uses 100 ± 5 μm thickness and 960 ± 10 mm width. Its maximum-force entries are 326 N/50 mm MD and 315 N/50 mm TD.
Reference elongation entries are 303% MD and 312% TD. Retain the property and direction; these entries should not be presented as test results for every thickness or future shipment.
Published 100 μm reference, not all-grade results
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Property | MD | TD |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum force | 326 N/50 mm | 315 N/50 mm |
| Elongation | 303% | 312% |
| Reference thickness | 100 ± 5 μm | Same reference grade |
| Reference width | 960 ± 10 mm | Confirm selected supply format |

Compare on a common test basis
Where strength is an acceptance requirement, identify the method, specimen basis and conditioning needed by your specification. A headline value without those details is an incomplete comparison.
Do not transfer the 100 μm reference to 150 μm by simple proportional multiplication. Confirm the technical requirements for the offered grade.
Connect strength selection to supply format
State the membrane use, thickness, width and required directions. Include the two-face colour requirement and the roll limits your line accepts.
For planning, approximately 150 kg per roll and six rolls near 900 kg material per pallet are current references. Confirm actual packing and gross mass for the selected dimensions.
Questions for This Purchase
Does equal HDPE density mean equal strength?
No. Construction and grade also matter.
Can I scale the reference force to 150 μm automatically?
Confirm the offered grade’s requirements instead.
Are the reference entries shipment results?
No. Keep grade information and batch-specific reports distinct.

Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
