Prepare an HDPE Shrink-Wrap Trial for Finished Membrane Rolls

For a wrapping trial, send the finished-roll dimensions and the packaging process with the film request. Evaluate the selected wrapping grade as packaging for your actual roll, rather than assuming that an HDPE facing specification answers the same question.

Define the object being wrapped

Record the finished membrane roll’s diameter, length or height and the packaging arrangement used by your factory. Include the protection or presentation requirement that matters to the order. Keep the measurements identifiable rather than borrowing dimensions from a different product.

Merily commonly discusses 50 μm HDPE for selected heat-shrink wrapping of finished membrane rolls. Confirm the actual wrapping grade and dimensions before a trial. Common facing gauges of 100/150 μm belong to a separate application discussion.

Describe the packaging process

Identify the equipment or process reference and the relevant conditions as recorded by your team. State the film width, core, winding and feed arrangement required by that process. Avoid converting one equipment setting into a universal film rating.

If a current film is being replaced, keep its sample and specification as the reference. Ask for any proposed change in construction or supply format to be identified in the offer. This makes the trial a defined comparison.

Agree what the trial will assess

Your acceptance record can identify the wrapping outcome, visible condition and handling checks relevant to the finished roll. Define any numerical test or other requirement with its method and conditions before interpreting the result.

Keep observations on the package separate from the membrane’s own waterproofing or mechanical properties. A successful package appearance is not a certification of the membrane, and a material-quantity calculation is not a wrapping trial.

Connect the approved trial to repeat supply

After approval, carry the selected wrapping grade, width, core, winding and roll length or weight into the quotation and order. Confirm actual net/gross weight and packing dimensions for shipment.

Send Merily the wrapping application, current sample information, finished-roll measurements and quantity. The quotation can then cover the relevant material format rather than an unspecified film described only as “for waterproofing”.

Questions for This Purchase

Is the 50 μm option a universal wrapping specification?

Confirm the selected grade and your actual packaging process; the gauge reference alone is not complete approval.

Should the trial use the actual finished-roll dimensions?

Yes. Keep the packaging evaluation linked to the roll being wrapped.

Does this guide prescribe shrink-equipment settings?

No. Use the equipment and process requirements for the actual trial.
