PET Carrier Film vs PET Release Film: Specify Function Before Thickness
A PET base does not determine the product’s function. Distinguish a carrier film from a release film before comparing thickness, roll length or price.

Describe the intended role
A carrier-film inquiry should identify the film’s intended role in the membrane construction. A release-film inquiry should identify the release interface and the adhesive system to be evaluated.
Do not use a clear appearance or PET material label as evidence that the two functions are equivalent. Retain the actual product specification.
Select the appropriate supply range
Common PET release-film thicknesses include 25, 30 and 36 μm. The carrier-film planning example uses 100 μm × 1000 mm × 2000 m.
These examples describe different selections, not a rule that every carrier or release film must use those dimensions. Confirm the supplied grade and format.

| Field | Carrier film | Release film |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Defined membrane-construction input | Defined release interface |
| Common reference | 100 μm carrier planning example | 25 / 30 / 36 μm release selections |
| Evaluation | Required carrier properties | Release behaviour with actual adhesive |
| Quotation | Actual film grade and format | Actual coating arrangement and format |

Ask the questions relevant to the function
For release film, specify the coated face arrangement and release evaluation required with your adhesive. Keep the test conditions with the result.
For carrier film, state the required construction and technical properties for your process. A release-force result does not establish carrier performance, and carrier strength does not establish release behaviour.
Compare complete quotations
Include product function, thickness, width, length or mass and applicable technical requirements. Use actual packing for the freight calculation.
Send Merily an identified sample when replacing an existing input. This helps prevent the wrong PET film being quoted against a familiar roll size.
Questions for This Purchase
Can PET material identity prove release behaviour?
No. Confirm the actual release-film grade and evaluation.
Should both products use one generic RFQ?
Keep their functions and technical requirements separate.
Can I send an existing sample?
Yes. Identify its use and specification with the sample.
Send your specification.

Tell us what you produce, the material you need and your required roll format. Include the quantity and destination port so we can prepare the product and packing details together.
Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
