180 and 200 g/m² Polyester Reinforcement: A 40 ft Loading Calculation

Compare reinforcement orders by usable area and actual material mass, not roll count alone. At Merily’s reference lengths, 180 g/m² and 200 g/m² rolls deliver different areas even when the container holds the same number of rolls.

Start with the roll format

Use 1450 m for the 180 g/m² planning reference and 1230 m for 200 g/m². Common widths are 1010 and 1020 mm. A 40 ft planning arrangement is 40 palletized rolls or 44 rolls without pallets.

These are alternative packing arrangements. Confirm actual packed dimensions, gross weight and shipping restrictions before booking; the extra four rolls are not a promise that every configuration will fit.

Calculate area before comparing cost

At 1010 mm, one 180 g/m² roll contains 1464.5 m²; one 200 g/m² roll contains 1242.3 m². Forty rolls therefore represent 58, 580 m² and 49, 692 m² respectively.

Multiply the quoted material price and shipment cost against the relevant area. A price per roll without grade and length is an incomplete comparison. Keep the finished membrane recipe separate from the raw reinforcement area.

Calculate material mass separately

The formula is basis weight × width in metres × length ÷ 1000. At 1010 mm, the example roll masses are 263.61 kg and 248.46 kg. Forty rolls give 10, 544.4 kg and 9, 938.4 kg of reinforcement material.

Core, wrapping and pallet mass are additional. The familiar 261 kg figure for 180 g/m² × 1450 m assumes a nominal one-metre width; do not reuse it as the exact mass of a 1010 mm roll.

Send one complete loading inquiry

Give Merily your grade, width, preferred roll format, pallet preference and destination. Include the maximum diameter and weight your unwinder accepts; the current target roll diameter is about 1150 mm.

We can discuss the material and packing on the same basis. Final loading should use the confirmed packing list rather than an estimate copied from a different reinforcement construction.

Questions for This Purchase

Are these measured shipment weights?

No. They are calculated material masses for the stated dimensions.

Can I compare the two grades by roll price alone?

Include roll area, technical requirements and freight before comparing.

Does 44-roll loading include pallets?

The current reference is without pallets. Confirm the final arrangement for your order.
