Convert PET / Aluminium Foil Laminate Kilograms into Square Metres
Use the area-per-kilogram reference for the actual laminate construction. A physical aluminium-foil layer means the roll should not be calculated as pure PET.
Choose the correct conversion
The user-confirmed planning references are approximately 26 m²/kg at 22 μm, 18.4 at 35 μm, 16.2 at 40 μm and 14.6 at 45 μm.
These are material-planning references, not batch test results. Confirm actual material mass and dimensions for the selected order.
Calculate required material quantity
Divide required area by the corresponding m²/kg reference. For 3000 m², the 35 μm example gives approximately 163.0 kg; 40 μm gives 185.2 kg; 45 μm gives 205.5 kg.
Do not include core and pallet mass in the area conversion. Keep net material quantity distinct from shipment gross weight.

Connect area to width and length
A 1000 mm × 3000 m roll contains 3000 m². At 1030 mm × 3000 m, the area is 3090 m², so its calculated material mass is higher.
Approximately 3000 m is a roll-length planning reference. Four rolls and a 900 kg pallet target must be checked against the actual thickness and width rather than assumed simultaneously.
Keep metallized PET separate
Common metallized PET uses 25 or 36 μm PET-base thickness and does not share the physical foil construction. Use its own planning basis and confirmed format.
