Specify Compound Base Mat Roll Length Without Borrowing Polyester Figures
Confirm the actual composite-mat roll format before calculating quantity or freight. The 1450 m and 1230 m references used for continuous-filament polyester are not default lengths for compound base mat.

Start with construction and width
Identify standard or Leno construction, weight grade and required width. Confirm the offered length, core, diameter and net material mass for that format.
The construction designation alone does not define every roll dimension. Keep the supplier’s proposed configuration beside the material specification.
Convert length to area
Material area equals width in metres multiplied by length in metres. For a purely illustrative 1 m × 1000 m roll, area is 1000 m².
At 100 g/m² that example contains 100 kg of material before core and packing. It is an arithmetic example, not a statement that this is Merily’s standard composite roll.
Composite roll-format specification
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Field | Confirm |
|---|---|
| Construction | Standard / Leno and selected grade |
| Sheet dimensions | Width and roll length |
| Handling | Core, diameter and mass limits |
| Quantity | Area and net material mass |
| Packing | Actual roll count and packed dimensions |
| Shipment | Route-specific gross weight and loading |

Check the handling envelope
Ask your production team for maximum roll diameter, mass and core requirements. A longer roll is only useful if it fits the intended unwinder and handling arrangement.
Do not lock length, diameter and mass independently without confirming the actual construction. Keep packed dimensions separate from the sheet width.
Build the shipment from confirmed rolls
Request the roll count and actual packing arrangement for the selected order. Do not apply the polyester 40 / 44-roll loading references or a film pallet’s 900 kg figure without a composite-specific confirmation.
Send Merily your grade, required area, roll limits and destination. This enables a quotation that connects usable production quantity to the actual packing.
Questions for This Purchase
Can I use the polyester reference lengths automatically?
No. Confirm the composite roll format separately.
Does the example define a standard supplied roll?
No. It demonstrates the area and mass calculation.
What should an RFQ state if length is flexible?
Provide required area and your equipment’s roll limits for format confirmation.
Send your specification.

Tell us what you produce, the material you need and your required roll format. Include the quantity and destination port so we can prepare the product and packing details together.
Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
