Choose 100 or 150 μm HDPE Facing with Both Material Yield and Performance in View
Compare the film quantity and the grade-specific requirement separately. A 100 μm HDPE film and a 150 μm film have different theoretical area per kilogram, but the thickness calculation alone cannot choose the suitable facing for your membrane.

Use the intended construction as the first filter
Identify the SBS or self-adhesive membrane construction and the role of the facing. State the required properties and process conditions for the selected grade. If replacing another construction, identify the existing reference explicitly.
Merily lists 100/150 μm as common HDPE facing gauges. Other listed options include 50 μm and 65–250 μm, but the 50 μm wrapping discussion is a different duty. Do not turn the available range into a universal suitability claim.
Compare theoretical film area
Using the approved PE/HDPE material reference, theoretical area per kilogram is 1080 divided by thickness in micrometres. At 100 μm this is 10.8 m²/kg; at 150 μm it is 7.2 m²/kg.
For an illustrative 150 kg net-film roll, the corresponding areas are 1620 m² and 1080 m². These figures exclude core and packaging and are planning calculations, not measured shipment results or mechanical specifications.

| Gauge | Theoretical area/kg | Illustrative 150 kg net-film roll |
|---|---|---|
| 100 μm | 10.8 m²/kg | 1620 m² |
| 150 μm | 7.2 m²/kg | 1080 m² |
| Length | Area divided by width in metres | Use actual quoted width |
| Scope | Material planning only | Core and packing additional |

Use width for the length calculation
At 1000 mm width, the same example areas correspond to 1620 m and 1080 m of linear length. At 960 mm, the lengths are approximately 1688 m and 1125 m. State the actual gauge, width and net-film mass with any example.
A roll-weight reference without width and gauge does not define a fixed length. Confirm the quoted supply configuration rather than treating a familiar 150 kg figure as a complete roll specification.
Keep the final decision tied to the grade
Compare the applicable mechanical and process requirements alongside the quantity estimate. Do not transfer cross-laminated film data to ordinary HDPE facing. Similar material yield does not establish equal performance.
Send Merily the membrane duty, gauge, width, required properties and roll format. Add quantity and destination for a quotation that connects the material choice to a practical supply arrangement.
Questions for This Purchase
Does 150 μm automatically meet every requirement better?
Select the grade required by the actual membrane and process; do not choose only from thickness or weight.
Does 150 kg tell me a fixed roll length?
No. Include gauge, width and the net-film weight basis.
Can the same area formula prove strength equivalence?
No. Quantity calculations and mechanical performance are different comparisons.
