PET Carrier Film and Polyester Nonwoven: Same Polymer Family, Different Forms
Specify the physical reinforcement form before buying. PET carrier film is a film product; continuous-filament polyester nonwoven is a fibrous reinforcement. A shared polymer family does not make them interchangeable.

Start with the material form
The PET carrier-film page describes film supplied for membrane applications. The continuous-filament polyester range describes nonwoven reinforcement in weight grades.
Ask for the actual construction instead of requesting only polyester material. Keep a sample or photograph attached to the product description if the form is unclear.
Use the appropriate dimensions
PET carrier film is selected by thickness and width, with a current planning example of 100 μm × 1000 mm × 2000 m. The corresponding material mass is about 280 kg.
Polyester nonwoven is selected by g/m² grade and width. Common widths are 1010 and 1020 mm; 180 g/m² and 200 g/m² have separate roll-length references of 1450 and 1230 m.
Choose the correct specification language
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Item | PET carrier film | Polyester nonwoven |
|---|---|---|
| Physical form | Film | Continuous-filament fibrous reinforcement |
| Primary size | Thickness in μm | Basis weight in g/m² |
| Width examples | 1000 mm planning example | 1010 / 1020 mm common |
| Technical data | Selected film grade | Selected nonwoven grade |
| Packing | Actual film-roll calculation | Actual reinforcement roll format |

Do not transfer technical rows
A nonwoven grade’s tensile, tear or thermal-dimensional requirement does not define the film grade. A film thickness does not define an equivalent nonwoven basis-weight grade.
Evaluate the actual material in your intended membrane construction. Keep processing and finished-product acceptance separate from the raw material’s name.
Quote the correct format
Send Merily the intended role, material form, required dimensions and handling limits. If replacing an existing input, provide its identified specification.
Packing references also differ: four carrier-film rolls at 280 kg already total about 1120 kg before packing. Do not apply a generic 900 kg pallet assumption.
Questions for This Purchase
Does PET mean the products are equivalent?
No. Specify the material form and intended role.
Can nonwoven test values be assigned to carrier film?
No. Use the selected film grade’s requirements.
What helps identify an existing material?
A specification and a clearly identified sample of the actual input.

Tell us what you produce, the material you need and your required roll format. Include the quantity and destination port so we can prepare the product and packing details together.
Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
