Agree Polyester Reinforcement Splice Rules for the Required Production Run

Confirm the splice rule before the roll reaches your unwinder. State whether interruptions are permitted, how they are identified and which reporting convention your production plan needs for the selected reinforcement format.

Define the order requirement

Identify the grade, width and requested roll length or handling limit. Ask the supplier to confirm any splice restriction needed by your process. A nominal roll length does not by itself state a splice-free production run.

Merily’s confirmed length references are 1450 m for 180 g/m² and 1230 m for 200 g/m². Keep any splice requirement attached to the actual quoted format rather than assuming the length reference includes an undocumented universal rule.

Specify identification where splices are accepted

Agree what information accompanies the roll and how a permitted splice is marked. Keep count, location and construction requirements separate where your process needs them. Avoid an instruction that merely says “mark clearly” without a shared reference.

Preserve the roll identity with the accompanying record. If the material is sampled or rewound within your factory, keep the relationship to the original supply information traceable.

Keep production allowances explicit

If your production plan allows for an interruption or excluded material around a splice, state that allowance as an input from your process. Do not silently deduct an arbitrary length or present a planning allowance as a supplier test result.

For comparisons between offers, confirm how total supplied length and any agreed reporting convention are stated. This helps the buyer compare the same usable-production assumption rather than only the roll count.

Carry the agreed rule into receiving

Match the delivered roll identity and records to the purchase requirement. If the information differs from the order, record the discrepancy with the actual roll and specification rather than merging it into an unrelated strength issue.

Send Merily your selected reinforcement grade, roll format and required splice arrangement with the quantity. A clear requirement allows the quotation and your run plan to use the same supply definition.

Questions for This Purchase

Does 1450 m automatically mean a splice-free run?

Confirm the actual splice requirement and supply arrangement in the order.

Should a splice record be treated as a mechanical test result?

No. They describe different aspects of the supply.

Can an interruption allowance be hidden in the comparison?

State it explicitly so offers use the same planning basis.
