Agree Raw-Material Roll Labels That Your Receiving Team Can Use
Useful labels connect a roll to the selected material and its packing record. Agree the information you need without assuming every supplier uses the same internal numbering system.

Start with the product identity
Specify the material family and selected grade. Include the dimensions needed to distinguish similar-looking rolls at receiving and production issue.
PE release film, thin PE surface film and other clear or coloured films should not be identified only as plastic film. Retain the actual product description.
Confirm the available reference fields
Ask which roll, lot, order and packing references will be supplied. If your plant requires a specific field or label language, include it in the inquiry for confirmation.
Avoid inventing an unconfirmed traceability system. The important purchasing link is the one that actually connects supplied labels, documents and samples.
Practical label requirements
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Field | Reason |
|---|---|
| Product / grade | Distinguish the actual input |
| Dimensions / units | Match the order format |
| Quantity basis | Separate net material and packed weight |
| Available reference | Connect roll, packing and order |
| Required language | Confirm the receiving need |
| Sample link | Retain identity after cutting |

Keep packing and material quantities distinct
Where dimensions or mass appear on labels, identify whether they describe material, roll gross weight or a complete packed unit. Do not use a pallet weight as the net film mass.
Keep units explicit and make the selected width, length or mass convention clear. This reduces errors when production compares a received roll with the purchase description.
Retain identity after unpacking
Plan how the roll reference remains attached when pallets are separated, wrapping opened or samples cut. Keep sample records connected to the parent roll.
Send Merily your required fields and the selected product format. Confirm the final label arrangement with the order rather than adding undocumented expectations at receiving.
