Check Surface-Film Fit Against Your Unwinder and Production Route
A suitable film grade still needs a usable production-roll format. Compare width, core, winding, weight and diameter with the actual line before accepting a quotation or arranging a larger trial.

Use a line-input sheet
Record the material function and the product family first. Then list the dimensions and handling limits relevant to your unwinder and production route. Keep the machine or line reference with those requirements.
For a thin PE film order, the selected gauge may be 8 or 12 μm within the listed range. For HDPE facing, the common gauges are 100/150 μm. Do not assume that a roll arrangement used for one film will suit the other.
Confirm all dimensions together
Width, core, roll length or weight and maximum diameter describe one supply configuration. If your order fixes several of them, check that the quoted combination is internally consistent. A weight reference alone cannot define both length and diameter.
Keep the winding and unwind direction identifiable with a sample or sketch. If the film has a functional face, state how that side reaches the intended material contact in your process.
Line-fit confirmation
On a phone, swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Input | Record |
|---|---|
| Material duty | Layer function and selected product family |
| Width | Ordered width and tolerance if required |
| Core | Required core configuration |
| Roll size | Length or weight and handling limits |
| Orientation | Winding and functional face where applicable |
| Trial scope | Format fit and material evaluation kept distinct |

Separate format fit from material suitability
A roll that physically fits the machine still needs the technical evaluation required for the membrane. Record grade-specific properties and relevant process observations separately from the dimensional checks.
Likewise, a small material sample may support a technical comparison without demonstrating the handling of the full production roll. Identify what the selected trial actually evaluates and what remains to be confirmed.
Use the confirmed configuration in the offer
Ask the quotation to state the selected product, dimensions, core, winding and roll-weight or length basis. Add the required quantity and destination, and confirm the actual packing arrangement.
Send Merily your line-input sheet and current roll specification. We can discuss a defined supply format rather than leaving purchasing and production to interpret different assumptions after the material arrives.
Questions for This Purchase
Does a roll fitting the unwinder prove membrane suitability?
No. Format fit and technical performance are separate checks.
Does a sheet sample evaluate the whole production roll?
State the scope of the trial; confirm full-roll handling separately where required.
What should purchasing obtain from production before an RFQ?
The line’s required roll dimensions, core, winding and handling limits alongside the material requirement.

Useful details: thickness or basis weight, width, roll length or weight, core, quantity and application. For release film, add coated side and release requirements.
Standard production: approximately 10 days for one 40-ft container order. Customized specifications: approximately 10–15 days. Confirm the schedule with the final order.
